Shredded Chicken Shawarma Pockets

 

Description:
Warm pita pockets filled with seasoned shredded chicken, crisp vegetables, and a creamy garlic yogurt sauce.

Ingredients

  • Best Tasting Snacks – Shredded Chicken Breast Meat 250g
  • Taco mix powder 20g
  • Table salt 1 tsp
  • Dried chili flakes 2g (1 tsp)
  • Olive Oil 14g (1 tbsp)
  • Plain yogurt 120g
  • Garlic (minced) 10g (2 cloves)
  • Ground Cumin 1g
  • Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) 30g (2 tbsp)
  • Ground white pepper 1g (½ tsp)
  • Pita breads 4 pcs
  • Fresh tomatoes (sliced or diced) 100g
  • White onions (sliced) 50g
  • Cucumber (sliced into half-moons) 100g

Procedure

  1. Make the sauce by mixing the yogurt, garlic, cumin, lemon juice, and white pepper in a small bowl. Chill until ready to use.
  2. Season the MET Food Shredded Chicken with taco seasoning, salt, and chili flakes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan and cook the chicken for 4–5 minutes until hot and lightly browned.
  4. Warm the pita bread for about 30 seconds, then slice open to form pockets.
  5. Fill each pita with the cooked chicken, tomatoes, onions, and cucumber. Drizzle with the garlic yogurt sauce and serve immediately.
